We’ll be staying at Ty Capel, Bardsey Island, North Wales 20th-27th September

• a highly informal co-created artists’ retreat for 5-6 people
• in a basic, off grid house on a remote island, a big house with 4 bedrooms, compost toilets, no hot water, no showers, no electric
• during the day - people work on their projects on their own… or just wander around the tiny island and hang out with seals and meditate or look at the sky or whatever
• in the evening - we cook food together and share songs/stories/poems/works in progress (if you want to)
• note this is not a facilitated retreat and there will be no fluffy towels provided

The boat to Bardsey crosses from Porth Meudwy, a small but active local fishing cove near Aberdaron.

Get dropped off or park at: Cwrt Farm, Lon Uwchmynydd, Aberdaron, Pwllheli LL53 8DA. Watch out for the sign for the farm! If you are leaving the car for the week you need to pay £20 to the farmer (bring cash). Your luggage will be picked up from Cwrt farm.

Please be aware there are no toilet facilities at this car park or in Porth Meudwy.

It’s a short walk down the hill to Porth Meudwy.

What to bring

Please keep baggage to a minimum as the boat has only limited hold capacity. Ensure your luggage is in small, easily handled boxes and bags. Boxes and bags should be easy to transfer on and off the boat and should be sealed and weatherproof for the journey.  We kindly ask you not to pack everything into a large, heavy suitcase.

Please label your luggage clearly with the name of your house you’ll be staying in. Unmarked luggage may be delayed or go astray.

Please bring the following items for your stay on the island:

• Suitable footwear and clothing for all weather
• Bedding including, Duvet cover for each bed (duvets are provided), Bed sheets, Pillowcases
• Warm pyjamas, as there is no heating in bedrooms
